Fans of Doctor Who, which has aired in various iterations on the BBC since 1963, all have their favourite doctor among the thirteen actors who have played the immortal alien Gallifreyan who travels back in time. As the main inhabitant of the TARDIS, a phone booth that can jump through space and time, the Doctor`s transformation is always explained by his regenesis into a new human body. In addition, the Doctor always has a true human companion to accompany him on his epic journey. You know him as former A.D.A. Rafael Barba of SVU, but Esparza also played ADA killer Kevin Mulrooney in the 2009 episode “Lady`s Man” of Law & Order: Criminal Intent and accused blackmailer Dennis Di Palma in the Law & Order episode “Blackmail.” Diane Neal starred in the crime spin-off Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (first as a regular and later in recurring and guest appearances) as Casey Novak – a deputy district attorney, who also appeared in an episode of the short-lived Law & Order: Trial By Jury. Besides the fact that the two literally come from different worlds, there`s another problem: Claire`s husband, Frank, is still waiting for her return in his timeline. Giddish, who will end her lengthy appearance as Amanda Rollins in CSR this season, has previously been seen on the same show as rape victim Kara Bawson in the 2007 episode “Outsider.” Later that year, she played murder suspect Dana Stipe in the criminal intent episode “Depths.” Another example is actress S. Epatha Merkerson.
She first played the role of a mother whose son was shot, but returned to the series a few years later to play the character of Van Buren. When Judy tries to leave Steve behind once and for all and move on with her life, she is pursued by her ex-fiancé, which comes to a head when Steve confronts Jen late at night at her house. That didn`t happen, but she and her casting directors still found an incredibly clever way to involve Marsden. “SVU” also saw its fair share of actors return. None other than Diane Neal, who plays Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak, began her time in the series as a small character for a few years before finally joining the cast (via The Blast). Her initial role was also that of a lawyer, but she was accused of a crime! In an astonishing performance spanning five seasons, Maslany mastered multiple accents and created completely different characters, tics, and mannerisms for over a dozen clones, making each character feel extraordinarily lived and real.
She even manages to play a clone who pretends to be someone else several times – and sells it! It is a performance for eternity that must be seen to believe. For years, critics crowned Maslany the most capable and exciting actress on television, and finally the Academy listened; Maslany was awarded an Emmy Award in 2016 for her considerable – and probably exhausting – efforts. Manheim appeared in Law & Order for three decades before appearing regularly on the series as Lt. Kate Dixon. The actress played Leila in the 1991 episode “Life Choice”, Martha Rollins in “Benevolence” (1993) and Beatrice Hines in “Nurture” (1993). It`s clear that those who work on the many series in the franchise love their work. So much so that it is not uncommon for some actors to play several different characters in the series. No police station is complete without a coroner. That title went to Melinda Warner, played by actress Tamara Tunie. His characters were a regular on the show for many seasons, but became a lead role from seasons 7 to 12. Tunie will appear on screen as Warner for 171 episodes. Before becoming a tough A.D.A.
in the courtroom, she had already made an appearance on the show.
